Senior Engineer -Production at Borg Warner

Senior Engineer – Production is responsible for effectively supervising employees in a designated area of manufacturing to ensure a safe work environment, meet production deadlines, and attain established goals in the areas of production quality, delivery, and cost. Be the role model for high standards in the organization.

  • Should have Manufacturing process knowledge on Press shop production, Press tools – Progressive & compound tool, Working knowledge on Tool maintenance.
  • Hands on experience in Press tool setting, basic trouble shooting of press machines.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing processes/procedures required.
  • Working knowledge on SAP
  • Should have passion to work with OE model and improve the team performance.
  • 8 – 9 years of work experience in Precision stamped components from automotive industry.
  • Knowledge on QMS (IATF), EMS & OHSAS systems & Requirements.
  • Require Analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • should be able to lead the team to work on quality, 5S, Safety and productivity improvements.
  • To ensure tools available as per drawing in his areas of accountability.
  • Should have good employee relations skill to participate and address their grievances efficiently.
  • Responsible for all manufacturing activities in a shift-production output, quality, safety & discipline etc
  • Will be responsible for carrying out continuous improvements in his respective area.
  • Should coordinate well with CFT team like Maintenance, Quality, MFG and ensure to deliver required performance.
  • Will be responsible for devising ways and means to improve competency of his team members by training, Multiskilling and job rotations.
  • Will be responsible for periodic performance appraisal of Company apprentices/Operating Engineers to put them on right track with constructive feedback.
  • A flair to work along with Young Diploma holders
  • Must have exposure on Production Planning against the customer schedules and tool planning in allocated areas.
  • Must have sound knowledge on Inventory Control management in the shop floor.
  • Capable of maintaining a good rapport peers & subordinates
  • Basic knowledge on Microsoft Excel, Power point & Word.
  • Should be able to ensure discipline and safety in the shop floor.
  • Willing to work in shifts.
  • Resolve employee issues, ensure positive employee relations, and promote and enforce all company policies fairly and consistently.
  • Will be required to take active part in implementing world class manufacturing concepts such as 5-S, TPM, TQM., TPS, etc in the shop floor.
